So I know I haven’t posted anything in a long time, but I swear I have my reasons (work, other work on top of that work, and a bunch of catching up to do in terms of reading and studying). I promise to start posting more.
For those who have been following some recent economic news, you might have heard about the LIBOR Scandal, a controversial scandal that saw the banking company Barclays try to manipulate worldwide interest rates. Here’s a nifty infographic that tells you, the consumer, just how you are effected by this scandal in general.

Pro-democracy rallies had been quickly dispersed in Bahrain today, with the use of tear gas and sound bombs. As usual with government crackdowns, the media was dispelled before they can capture anything substantial that could give the government a bad rap. There doesn’t seem to be reports of any casualties.
A trial for an 11-year old boy, named Abu Saiba, accused of illegally protesting, has been set for next week. There has been too much silence over the issue of Bahrain, it is rightfully the most controversial one of the Arab Spring revolts. Not only has another country come in to quell the situation (Saudi Arabia), but the US doesn’t seem to be addressing anything going on over there due to national interests. It needs to be reiterated that human rights abuses are not justified no matter the national interest in the area, no matter what.

Although the Chinese and the North Koreans are allies, apparently China doesn’t seem to understand that North Korea is downright, bat-shit insane. No one knows whether the North Koreans who took the Chinese hostage were either acting by themselves, or they were military, but it can be asked that in either case.. Why?
China is seeing itself as a kid being picked on in the Yellow Sea playground. Doesn’t anyone know how many times China can blow up their country? Let’s hope and pray that China doesn’t wipe out the rest of Southeast Asia.
A member of the Saudi royal family has pledged $900,000 to a bounty offered by a prominent cleric to any Palestinian who kidnaps an Israeli soldier, according to comments aired on a private TV station Saturday.
